Founded in 2007, Bithop Systems is an SBA 8(a) certified minority-owned disadvantaged small business providing information technology services to the federal and state government, and private sector companies.  Bithop Systems’ mission is to help clients achieve success by developing IT solutions, comprehensive enterprise architecture that aligns information technology assets and solutions with business strategy. Our goal is to develop software systems and applications to significantly improve business processes, streamline operational efficiencies, align IT assets and future investments and mitigate risks due to ever-changing business environment and technology. Our core capabilities include Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, EMC Documentum, HandySoft BizFlow, Appian Enterprise and design tools such as IBM/Telelogic Systems Architect and Sparx System Enterprise Architect.

Management Team

Sohail Shaikh, President & Principal Consultant

Mr. Shaikh is the President and Principal Consultant at Bithop Systems, Inc (BSI).  He has worked extensively with numerous federal agencies and commercial consulting firms prior to the inception of BSI.  Mr. Shaikh began his career at Cornet Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer/Lead Software Architect, where he designed and developed data-communication and software engineering.  He worked with several private sector companies such as Lockheed Martin, Lexis-Nexis and HandySoft Global Corporation on the development of enterprise content management systems, data migration, analyzing and re-engineering processes and creating product feature specifications for the Biz Flow product. 

After many years of working in the private sector, Mr. Shaikh began his career working with federal agencies.  In 2004, Mr. Shaikh joined the Department of Commerce where he worked as a Business Process Management (BPM) specialist and HandySoft BizFlow Workflow SME on deploying a COTS product, which automated trademark loading processes and reduced bottlenecks.  Mr. Shaikh went on to work for the Environmental Protection Agency in 2005, where he lead efforts on the execution of an eGov – eRulemaking initiative which consolidated millions of documents from various repositories in different formats into a new, streamlined content repository. 

Mr. Shaikh joined the Defense Information Systems Agency as a BPM and SME expert in 2006, and worked with civilians and military leadership to capture end-to-end AS-IS IT products and services procurement processes and migrated data repositories, which ultimately saved millions of taxpayer dollars per year and reduced service time significantly.  In 2007, Mr. Shaikh began working as Technical Architect with the Department of Justice, where he led and managed the technical team in analyzing, deploying and troubleshooting the GSA solution in the DOJIT environment and developed business, technical and network architecture and presented it to the Deputy CIO and HSPD-12 Program Manager.  He also presented several agency-wide digital identity management solutions including LACS and biometrics.  At the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Shaikh worked in supporting the IRS Enterprise Architecture Office with developing the Affordable Care Act project architectures, logical design and IA&E/Platform Engineering.

Mr. Shaikh received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from George Mason University in 1999, and completed his Master’s in Business ­­Administration from The University of Maryland University College in 2005.  Mr. Shaikh is also a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and is currently working towards his PgMP. 

Shazia Shaikh, Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, Mrs. Shaikh handles client relations, marketing and lead generation.  She is currently working on the GSA IT 70 Schedule to promote and market Bithop Systems Inc. Mrs. Shaikh plays an integral role in identifying and contacting potential agencies that BSI can bid for.  She manages the proposal development process and maintains time-lines for projects. Mrs. Shaikh has over 11 years of experience in client relationship management.  She has a strong background in sales having previously worked with United Airlines, Management Concepts and National Farmers Union.
